My first Bob Dylan show. I was 17. It was one of the most special nights of my life. I was there with my dad, who introduced me to Dylan, of course, and we had tickets for the late show. We were in line early, and as folks were going in to the early show, someone offered us a ticket. They only had one. My dad encouraged me to take it, while he held our place in line. So I got to see both shows that night, with the late show being a truly incredible performance. I've seen a few hundred live concerts since, and this remains in my top three, easy. Anyone know where to download these shows? The links above don't work any longer. Thanks!

I didn’t catch any of his shows in 2000, but I saw him the following year in Sioux City, Iowa after Love & Theft was released. I saw the first live performance of Floater, along with several other great songs from Love & Theft.

Thanks a lot for this spring 2000-run, it's been a highlight of the day reading your essays and listening to the shows. I'd love to have something similar for the equally great June/July part of the tour, if you're taking requests. Otherwise, I'll take what I get. Thanks a lot, I will definitely listen a lot to these spring 2000 shows this spring. Take care! Kristian

Great post! I was lucky enough to catch both of those Anaheim shows and they, along with the 3 shows in Toronto in 1990, remain my absolute favorites to have seen live.

I would direct readers of this finely composed article to the March 15 and 16 shows in Santa Cruz CA. Both nights are phenomenal but the 16th is one for the ages. I was front and center for this performance.
