The sound was never quite the same after Larry left imo. Certainly some great shows 2005-2012, but it was only in 2013 when The Set kicked in, that there was consistent excellence again.

A great read, as always, thanks! Great recording too, of a very inspired show.

I saw all three shows at the Seattle Paramount run, and Elana was amazing--the way she interacted with Bob was very sexy and he seemed to really rise to the occasion. Her playing was stellar, and the shows had wildly different setlists every night, meaning we got to hear that magical violin on many different Dylan classics. In my forty years of seeing Dylan shows, those were among the most memorable. I believe there is a fan-made DVD out there--someone should put it up on Dime or Trader's Den.

I loved Elana Hot Club of Cowtown also opened the next summer. Biggest rumor at the time was that she missed a few shows for a wedding; it was a pre-arranged absence, and not intended as a multi-year gig from the start -I think it was after the tour that she recorded "Tell Ol Bill" with Bob. The rumors and crap about her on the forums at the time were just awful (and the women were generally just as bad as the men, if not worse). One big rumor was that Bob fired her for smiling during "Hattie Carrol." While she did have an ENORMOUS grin at all times, they didn't play that song.
